The Alamo Mission Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will host the 109th Annual Pilgrimage to the Alamo in honor of the Alamo Heroes and the heritage of Texas.
The Pilgrimage traces its origins to 1918, when the first procession was held as a tribute to those who gave their lives at the Alamo. In 1925, the Alamo Mission Chapter established the annual Pilgrimage tradition that continues today. For more than a century, this solemn observance has brought military personnel, civic and patriotic organizations, schools, and community members together to remember the fallen.
Participants gather at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts before beginning the silent procession to the Alamo. As the groups make their way to the Alamo, the names of the fallen Heroes are read in remembrance.
