Old Spanish Trail Bench Rededication & Historical Marker Dedication
The relocation of the OST bench to the Old Spanish Walking Trails park is on May 6. Please join us in the rededication. It was relocated from the original 1936 location at the intersection of Fredericksburg Rd & Vance Jackson after a car struck it for the third time in 2024.

Join us for the rededictation of the OST bench. The bench originally dedicated in 1936 by Alamo Mission Chapter has been relocated to the Old Spanish Walking Trails for the preservation of the bench and its history.
The Old Spanish Trail is a historical trade and migration route. It includes segments of some of the oldest roads and trails in Texas. It extends from San Augustine, Fl. to San Diego, Ca. Its approximate 900 mile route through Texas passes through Orange, San Antonio, and El Paso. The OST is also known as El Camino Real de Los Tejas, The Kings Highway and the Old San Antonio Road, San Antonio, founded as a Spanish mission and presidio, became a key stop along the trail.
