Join the Alamo Mission Chapter for our October General Meeting as we welcome Laurel Smith, Living Historian, for a special presentation on the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word and their remarkable legacy in San Antonio.
Arriving in San Antonio in 1869, the Sisters of Charity answered a call to care for those in need during a time of epidemics and rapid growth. Their work would help shape healthcare, education, and social services throughout San Antonio and South Texas.
Laurel will bring this history to life through her portrayal of Sister Mary of Jesus Noiry, “Heroine of the Prairies.” Through her presentation, discover the story of a woman whose compassion and service left a lasting mark on our community.
Join us for a seated luncheon and an opportunity to step into the story of the remarkable women who helped shape San Antonio.
